RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh firefighters were responding to a vehicle crash on Sunday when an SUV slammed into the firetruck that was placed to shield them from traffic.
Wake New Hope Fire Department officials said that a white SUV failed to make a 90-degree turn and crashed, landing upside down in an embankment, ABC 11 reports.
Officials believe the driver and any passengers fled the scene of the accident, but as firefighters were investigating, a black SUV slammed into the firetruck protecting them from the road.
