DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — It’s never too late to make someone’s dream come true. For one man, it just took 97 years.
Bill Grun has always wanted to become a firefighter and ride on a fire truck, 10TV.com reported. Firefighters from Doylestown Fire Company heard about his wish and decided to surprise him on his birthday.
When Ladder 79 pulled up at the senior center where Grun lives, he hopped right in. Crews took him for a ride and let him turn on the siren.
“We were just happy to fulfill his lifelong dream,” the department said in a statement. “Happy birthday Bill, and many more. You’re one of us now.”
