EASTON, Mass. — A retired firefighter helped crews rescue a man after his car rolled over and plunged into a pond in Easton.

Leon Rudman, 73, believes he hit a patch of ice or a rock, which made his car veer off of Bay Road and land upside down in a pond Tuesday morning.

“I knew something was wrong because I couldn’t move around,” said Rudman. “I didn’t realize I was upside down.” Retired firefighter Lee Anderson said he heard the crash and rushed over to help.
