WESLACO, Texas — They rush into fires, help accident victims and save lives, but a Weslaco woman is singing the praises of three firefighters after they rescued her cat.
Like most animal lovers, Ednah Ojago considers “Angel” a part of her family. When the kitten escaped from her home, got spooked, and climbed up a giant tree outside her Weslaco home, Ednah felt helpless.
“My heart was pumping really fast,” Ednah said. “I did think the worst, and I thought maybe he’s stuck and he was up there. He was crying.” She tried a ladder; she even called on a neighbor’s kid for help. But ‘Angel’ was perched too high in the tree, simply out of reach.
