STANDING STONE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — State police in Bradford County say a firefighter was hit by a drunk driver. The crash happened around 12:30 Saturday afternoon on Rummerfield Creek Road near Wyalusing.

Troopers say 25-year-old Clinton Houghtaling, a Herrickville volunteer firefighter, was walking along the road when he tried to warn the driver, 19-year-old Travis Taylor, that wires were down in the roadway.

Taylor hit Houghtaling with his vehicle. Houghtaling was taken to the hospital with major injuries and is in stable condition.
