FRESNO, Calif. — A Fresno firefighter sustained injuries to his knees and torso after falling partially through a hole in second-story floor of an abandoned building. The incident came after firefighters knocked down the blaze.
“There was a hole in the floor covered by some sheetrock from a previous fire and one of our fire captains stepped through the sheetrock and went half way through the floor to his chest,” said Fresno Fire Chief Chuck Tobias told KFSN-TV.
The firefighter was transported to the hospital; further information on his condition is not available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
