SOUR LAKE, Texas — A firefighter lost her left arm in an accident while working at the scene of a semitrailer crash in Texas on Thursday.
Kimberly Huckabee, a Pinewood volunteer firefighter, had her arm amputated in surgery at the hospital after being struck by another vehicle while she was helping to direct traffic, according to reports. Doctors were able to reconnect fingers that had been severed from her right hand.
Traffic on the road was shut down after the incident, and about 6,700 gallons of crude oil in the tanker were allowed to burn out, according to The Associated Press.
