EL PASO, Texas — El Paso firefighters are trying to rescue two hikers from the top of the Franklin Mountains, between Trans Mountain Road and the McKelligon Canyon area, said John Concha, a spokesman for El Paso Fire Department.
At about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, two women - one in her late 30s and the other in her early 40s, went hiking in the Franklin Mountains. At about 6:13 p.m. the women called 911 for help because they could not find their way back, Concha said.
More than 20 members of El Paso Fire Department are heading up to the top of mountain to rescue the women, Concha said.
He said no injuries are reported at this time.
