FireRescue1 Executive Editor Chief Marc Bashoor speaks with Spartan Chief Operating Officer Tom Ninneman about firefighter safety on the road and how the company is working to make cabs safer.

“The data shows that cab safety and firefighter safety is paramount,” Ninneman tells Bashoor. “The second-leading cause of line-of-duty injuries remains vehicle collisions, and we’re really focused on how that firefighter experience in the cab is safe, and we’re building on that every day.”

Ninneman touts Spartan apparatus features, from the steps up into the rig, to the width of the doors and additions to the advanced protection system, which include the biggest frontal airbag in the industry.
