Calling a mayday

Getting a mayday message across the radio sometimes can be difficult due to all the radio chatter taking place on the fireground. One way to ensure your mayday message gets everyone's attention is to hold the radio mic open and hold it to the PASS alarm going off.

The sound of the PASS alarm will definitely get everybody's attention and will allow you to get your priority message through. Hold the open mic to the PASS alarm for about 5 seconds and then declare your mayday.
