CHANTILLY, Va. — Thanks to a grant from Motorola, IAFC’s chief development program is available for the seventh year in a row.

According to a press release, the Fire Service Executive Development Institute works to provide new chiefs with the tools they need for success.

The program was funded by the Motorola Solutions Foundation, which focuses on funding public safety and disaster relief, as well as science and technology education programs.

New and aspiring chiefs who have demonstrated “a commitment to career advancement” are able to apply for the year-long program.

In the program, fire and emergency service experts discuss topics such as ethics, new-era leadership, emerging concepts, management relations and recruiting tactics.

“There is hardly a day that goes by where I don't draw from either the experience or cohorts to help my decision-making process,” a recent member said. “This program is impacting the fire service for future generations.”

The program is limited to 20 members, and those accepted will receive a scholarship for housing, meals and activities.  Click here to contact Mary Beth Michos for more information.
