Wash. training firm demonstrates simulation at FRI

KIRKLAND, Wash. — Compelling Technologies, Inc, America’s leading provider of safety-themed interactive products and services and originator of the acclaimed FullyInvolved firefighter training simulation, has announced a new partnership with the Washington State Fire Fighters Association to redesign the statewide volunteer firefighter recruiting program.

CTI will work to improve recruiting and retention rates, focusing on specific demographics such as youth and minority populations. Due to factors ranging from National Guard deployments to lack of employer support, the United States suffers an acute shortage of volunteer firefighters.

“Washington is among many states whose safety and security depend on a larger, stronger volunteer firefighting force,” said Rob Carnahan, CTI Chairman and Senior VP, Strategic Alliances. “CTI will assist by developing a long-term multimedia campaign to reach potential recruits in fresh and effective ways.”

The initiative is funded under a 2007 SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) grant administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Compelling Technologies is known for FullyInvolved, the computer-based command training simulation for firefighters based on fire service best practice strategies and praised by federal, state and local officials as the best product of its kind. CTI blends authoritative subject matter expertise with innovative PC- and internet-based learning tools. The result is an expanding line of appealing and trusted learning solutions that are the most effective teaching aids of their kind, developed in concert with public sector officials.

CTI is demonstrating FullyInvolved in Denver August 14 - 16 at the International Association of Fire Chiefs’ Fire-Rescue International (FRI) event. CTI will be exhibiting with the Western Fire Chiefs Association at Booth #338-1, located in the IAFC membership area at the Colorado Convention Center.

“As veterans of the American public safety community, CTI lends personal expertise and passion to safety initiatives. We partner with federal, state and local government agencies to make the nation safer and more secure,” said CIT’s President Michelle Harden.

Headquartered in Kirkland, Washington, CTI is privately held.
