NEW YORK — A nonprofit organization says it’ll pay off the mortgage of a Manhattan firefighter who died in the line of duty.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation said Tuesday it’ll also cover any future home renovations costs to aid the family of Joseph Sanford Jr.

Sanford died Dec. 23 when a home’s first floor collapsed.

The nonprofit plans to raise more than $300,000 in donations.

Newsday says the mortgage holder, Bank of America, will match up to 50 percent of what the foundation raises.

The foundation also will pay for home renovations for the family of slain NYPD Det. Wenjian Liu.

More than $1 million has been raised to pay off mortgages held by Liu and fellow Det. Rafael Ramos. They were killed in an ambush attack in December.
