LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighter Joshua Warren collapsed with a medical emergency while working out Thursday at a middle school.
The cause of his death has not been release and an investigation is planned, WCCB reported.
Warren, 34, has been a career member of the East Lincoln Fire Department since 2013. He also served part time on the Alexis and Lucia-Riverbend departments; he was on duty with Alexis when he collapsed.
A 911 call went out at about 11 a.m. First responders worked to keep Warren alive, but he died shortly after at the emergency department.
Warren leaves behind a wife and two young children.
