CORVALLIS, Ore. — George P. Wrenn, who lies in an unmarked grave in Crystal Lake Cemetery, soon will have a monument in his honor, thanks to a fundraising effort that already has seen 80 of hundreds of unmarked graves properly identified in the past year or so.

Wrenn, the founder of Corvallis’ first fire department, remains the only Corvallis firefighter to die in the line of duty.
