A fire ignited in a residential building in Nutley, N.J., on July 24 at approximately 0100 HRS. After an initial attempt at an interior attack, heavy fire forced firefighters to withdraw from the building. One ladder pipe, one Squrt and a couple exterior lines were put into operation to knock down the flames so firefighters could re-enter the building to make final extinguishment. A second alarm was called for coverage of the Nutley firehouses. No injuries were reported.
