At 11:29 am, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and Hillsboro Fire Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision near the corner of 204th Avenue and Farmington Road in Aloha. As crews were en route they were told by dispatchers that callers were reporting the incident to be a head-on collision between a dump truck and small compact car. Expecting the worst, Life Flight ambulance was placed on standby.
Crews arrived to find the two vehicles on the sidewalk and the 61 year-old male driver of the Hyundai Azera lying on the ground next to the car. He was assessed and treated by emergency crews and transported to a local hospital by Metro West Ambulance. As a precaution, the driver of the truck was also transported to a hospital via ground ambulance.
Before leaving the scene, crews placed absorbent material on the roadway to mitigate the 50-yard oil slick resulting from the collision.
The incident is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriffs Office.
