On Jan. 7, a woman drove her car off Northbound Edens Expressway near Chicago and into a tree. Firefighters arrived to find the engine compartment involved with fire. While the fire crew worked to extinguish the fire, an ambulance crew stabilized the driver who had been pulled from the burning vehicle by another driver. Responding companies included Northfield Squad 29 and Ambulance 29, as well as Wilmette Engine 27, Ambulance 27 and Battalion Chief 2602.
