Massapequa (N.Y.) FD flies a fall victim out

MASSAPEQUA, NY – A little after 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 06, 2007 the Massapequa Fire Department responded to a fall victim at 205 2nd Avenue. A man had fallen off his roof, two stories up. Three Massapequa ambulances along with a Nassau County Police Department ambulance were on scene. Due to the mechanism of injury, aviation was called in to transport the patient out. HELO 6 flew in and landed at the Hawhorn School, directly across the street from the incident (where the new Nassau County Police Academy is). The patient, who was conscious and alert, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center.
