2 Houston FFs hurt in ambulance hit-and-run

A driver in a Chevy Avalanche pick-up reportedly T-boned the rig at an intersection and kept on driving

HOUSTON — Two members of the Houston Fire Department were hospitalized after a pick-up truck crashed into the ambulance they were driving.

The HFD crewmembers were reportedly going through an intersection when a driver in a Chevy Avalanche T-boned the ambulance and kept on driving, according to police. The firefighters also told police they had a green light at the time of the crash.

There was no patient in the ambulance when the incident occurred. The firefighters were transported to the hospital and are reportedly in stable condition.

An investigation is ongoing.
