Department investigates Seattle firefighter’s ‘farewell tattoo’

Photo of firefighter’s “tattooed” back and buttocks circulated Facebook

SEATTLE — A photo that appeared on Facebook of a Seattle fire lieutenant’s “tattooed” back and buttocks is being investigated by the department.

The photo — which King 5 News says was taken on the fire lieutenant’s last day at the station — shows him on the station house floor, showing his lower back and upper buttocks tagged with paint that says “Ladder 10,” E 25", and “B 2.”

The report also says fellow firefighters posted the picture and proceeded to “like” it on Facebook.

The Seattle Fire Department said they were unaware of the photo but are now currently investigating.

As the video report shows, some residents in the station’s jurisdiction didn’t mind or care about the prank, which begs the question, is this a valid story for the local news to cover.
