Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company Assistant Chief Daniel Lister was on the scene of a crash involving multiple vehicles when he suffered a medical emergency.

QUEEN ANNE, Md. — An assistant fire chief died Saturday after suffering a medical emergency while responding to a vehicle crash.

According to a press release, Queen Anne-Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company Assistant Chief Daniel Lister was on the scene of a crash involving multiple vehicles when he suffered a medical emergency.

Attempts to resuscitate Lister failed, and he died at the hospital.

Fire officials said multiple people were trapped as a result of the crash, and nine patients were transported to the hospital, according to the Eastern Shore Fire/EMS/Police Breaking News Facebook page.
