JACKSON COUNTY, Okla. — An assistant fire chief died Friday after a burning home collapsed.
According to a post from the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association, Friendship Volunteer Fire Department Asst. Chief Madison Clinton Jr. was killed after becoming trapped under a collapsed porch roof.

“Maddy was performing suppression operations on a structure fire located in the Friendship Fire Department response area North of Altus,” Altus Fire Chief Kyle David said. “During the fire suppression operation, the structure collapsed on Assistant Chief Clinton pinning him under the roof of the structure.”
Clinton is survived by wife and two daughters. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15 at Altus First Baptist Church.
