SAN FRANCISCO — A member of the San Francisco Fire Department died after fighting a fire at a San Francisco International Airport parking structure.
Firefighter Christopher G. Yock suffered a medical emergency at his home following the fire, The Mercury News reported.
“Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones, especially his teenage son,” the SFFD said in a press release. “Thank you for your continued support as we mourn the loss of our beloeved brother, firefighter Christopher Yock. Rest in peace, brother.”
Yock joined the SFFD in April 2017 and spent most of his career at Station 10 before transferring to Truck 48 at SFO in January 2019.
A vigil is scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, and a celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 19, both held at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco.
