MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — Martin County Fire Rescue officials announced the death of Hazmat Firefighter-Paramedic Scott R. Neumann, who had just completed a shift at Station 16.

In a Facebook post, MCFR extended their thoughts and prayers to Neumann’s family, according to Space Coast Daily.

“While our fire family is hurting, we extend our love and support to Scott’s family during this incredibly difficult time,” the post read.

Neumann served with MCFR for nearly two decades. He had also previously worked with Brevard County Fire Rescue, Indian River County Fire Rescue, and the St. Lucie County Fire District.

“Today, Martin County Fire Rescue, Indian River County Fire Rescue, Brevard County Fire Rescue, St. Lucie County Fire District and many other surrounding agencies joined together to salute and honor Scott’s life, faithful and loyal service, and selfless devotion to duty,” MCFR’s post read. “Sebastian River Medical Center’s incredible support allowed us to continue to show Scott and his family heartfelt compassion.”
