CARROLLTON, Texas — A Texas fire captain died Sunday after suffering a stroke at the fire station last week.

Carrollton Fire Rescue Capt. Frazier Holbert, 57, returned from an emergency call and went to bed at the station in the early morning hours of Sept. 9, according to the U.S. Fire Administration. Holbert was later found unresponsive by fellow firefighters and transported to the hospital.

Holbert was transferred to another hospital where he died on Sept. 13.

“Please keep Captain Holbert’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they mourn his passing,” Carrollton Texas Fire Rescue wrote in a Facebook post.
