LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — Firefighters rescued a Christiana Fire Company firefighter after the floor of a burning home in the Parkesburg Borough collapsed beneath them, WHTM reported.
At around 3:20 a.m., the Christiana Fire Company responded to a multiple dwelling fire and initially made entry into the structure, though conditions soon deteriorated and firefighters had to evacuate. One crewmember became trapped.
The fire company quickly sounded a mayday and worked to extricate the firefighter, which took five minutes.
The firefighter was transported to a local hospital and was found to have sustained little to no injury.
Other fire departments, including the Keystone Valley Fire Department, also responded to the blaze.
