Ky. engineer-paramedic’s sudden death a shock for fire district, family

Whitney Craig died unexpectedly on Sunday after nine years as a first responder

COLD SPRINGS, Ky. — The Central Campbell Fire District announced the death of Engineer-Paramedic Whitney Craig on Monday.

Craig died on Sunday, according to FOX 19 NOW.

Whitney Craig began her career with the Ludlow Fire Department in 2011. She was hired as a Firefighter-Paramedic in 2015 by the CCFD, and promoted to Engineer-Paramedic in 2018.(Photo/Central Campbell Fire District)

“Words cannot express how sad it makes us to have to announce this terrible news,” the district said in a release. “Whitney was a wonderful young lady and we miss her already.”

Craig began her career with the Ludlow Fire Department in 2011. She was hired as a Firefighter-Paramedic in 2015 by the CCFD, and promoted to Engineer-Paramedic in 2018.

Craig is survived by her two sons. A GoFundMe was created for donations to cover funeral expenses.

“Due to the unexpected loss, there were no funds in place for funeral arrangements for Whitney and her family,” the GoFundMe description states. “We are graciously accepting donations to help alleviate this financial burden. Any leftover funds will be placed in trust funds for her two sons.”
