CORVALLIS, Ore. — The Corvallis Fire Department has a new fire engine with a bit of the past in it.

This past week, the department held a push-in ceremony with crewmembers, local officials and others. A retired crewmember spoke about the simbolic importance of the engine’s bell.

Firefighters can have their name engraved on the bell of the engine they worked on when they retire from the department, the Corvalis Gazette-Times reported.
