2 W.Va. firefighters rescued from structure fire

The firefighters reportedly became trapped in the structure, prompting request of a helicopter rescue crew

BOOTHSVILLE, W.Va. — Two firefighters were reportedly trapped during a working fire in Boothsville, West Virginia, Wednesday night.

According to 12 News WBOY, crews rescued the trapped firefighters, and a helicopter rescue crew was also notified to the scene.

Multiple emergency crews from Monongah, Boothsville Volunteer, Valley, Winfield District, Barrackville and Shinnston fire departments responded to a fully involved working fire Wednesday night on Rock Union Road.

Following the initial firefight and rescue of the two trapped firefighters, the fire rekindled on Thursday morning.

Officials have not yet stated the cause of the fire or if anyone was injured.
