CHICAGO — A 6-year-old girl was seriously burned while playing with a lighter in Chicago Monday.
She suffered second-degree burns on 10 to 15 percent of her body, according to the Chicago Tribune.
While playing with the lighter in a bedroom, the girl set her shirt on fire. She then ran into the kitchen, where her father extinguished the fire in the kitchen sink.
An ambulance took the girl to a hospital, where she was stabilized. A spokesman for the fire department said earlier that her injuries were critical.
