LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Las Cruces firefighters rescued an unconscious man from his smoke-filled apartment early Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to 2405 W. Picacho Ave. in reference to an apartment filled with smoke. Upon arrival, firefighters found the man lying face down approximately five feet from the front door and were able to remove him immediately from the apartment.
The victim was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center and his condition was unknown.
Firefighters found a burning item on top of the stove that caused the smoke inside of the apartment. No other injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
