SAN DIEGO — A FedEx driver is being hailed as a hero for rescuing an unconscious driver from a burning vehicle after an interstate crash.
A Toyota Camry was heading southbound on I-15 near state Route 52 in San Diego just before 3:00 a.m. Wednesday when the vehicle crashed into a guardrail and began to burn, 10 News reported.
A passing FedEx truck driver stopped at the scene and dragged the Camry’s driver from the car before the fire engulfed the vehicle.
“As soon as I saw the car, it was still actively on fire. You got to stop to see if you can do anything at all,” the FedEx driver told 10 News.
The driver was transported to a local hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
