CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. — A retired firefighter rescued a mother and her two children from a burning car near his home in late May, KOCO reported Thursday.

Ronnie Rollings and his wife were getting ready to go fishing that day. She noticed dust and noise. The car had flipped.

When the Rollings got to the car, the driver was crawling out of it.

“My wife was asking if anyone else was inside, and she said my babies were inside,” Rollings said. “I knew immediately that we needed to get those babies out of the vehicle.”

He freed the 1-year-old and the 2-year-old, who were treated for injuries.
