The apparatus driver was pinned, but not seriously hurt when he hit a tree in bad road conditions

RARITAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. — While en route to a possible structure fire, a Three Bridges (N.J.) Fire Company apparatus struck a tree Wednesday. The driver required extrication but suffered minor injuries.

The crashed rig is a 1984 Peter Pirsch used as first-due engine out of the department’s station two. Three Bridges is a 75-year-old volunteer fire department with an 11.5-square-mile response area and 25 members.
