WEST COVINA, Calif. — California police arrested three people in connection to the disappearance of a firefighter who’s been missing for a week.

According to CBS Los Angeles, West Covina Firefighter John Brian Mananghaya Aguila was reported missing on Aug. 24 by family members. The family said he had not been seen in a couple of days and did not report to work at the Bureau of Land Management.

Police started their investigation and found that the city of San Dimas had impounded Aguila’s white 2017 Honda Civic. Video surveillance showed an unidentified man, not Aguila, left the car unattended.

When searching the vehicle, police discovered blood-covered clothing inside, along with the fingerprints of a man at a La Verne address. The West Covina Police Department SWAT Team served a search warrant at the address and detained three individuals. One of those individuals was identified as the man in the surveillance video.

The investigation is ongoing, and the WCPD is asking for any information regarding Aguila to contact the WCPD at 626 939-8557.
