GYPSUM, Colo. — First responders are searching for a missing firefighter, who has not been seen since Monday after he headed out to the mountains on a recreational outing.

According to CBS 4 Denver, Tayler Esslinger, 26, is a firefighter with the Gypsum Fire Protection District and a deputy for the Eagle County Sheriff’s office. Law enforcement authorities said his cellphone is not transmitting any information on his location.

A volunteer search party is being organized to search for the missing firefighter, joining his brother, Tyler, who is currently searching for Esslinger on an ATV.

“I really appreciate the community coming together to support us. It shows a lot of love that they have for my brother. My brother and I grew up here,” said Tyler. “I just want to find him.”
