BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man is charged with criminal possession of stolen property after taking the Buffalo Fire Department fire chief’s battalion vehicle for a joyride.

Buffalo firefighters were responding to a sprinkler malfunction at the Buffalo Grand Hotel when Jakyle, E Foster, 23, took off in the Chevy Tahoe that was left unlocked and running with its lights on, Buffalo News reported.

The Buffalo police caught Foster parked in a driveway after crashing the SUV into a 2001 Chevrolet Camaro. Police noted he appeared to be intoxicated.

Foster was also charged with an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and second-degree harassment.
