NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Three children were struck by an SUV driven by New Brunswick Fire Director Robert Rawls as they crossed Livingston Avenue near Delevan Street, according to New Brunswick police.
All three juveniles, which were reported to be two 14-year-old girls and a six-year-old boy, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.
Rawls remained on scene after the accident and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
