BERWICK, Pa. — Weeks ago, Hunter Mullins, 7, received a funeral fit for a firefighter after a long battle with two different neurological conditions. Fellow firefighters and friends are now mourning his firefighter mother, Ash Bronzburg, 29, who worked for the Salem (Pa.) Township Fire Company.
The circumstances surrounding her death were not available.
“I don’t know where to start. I feel like this is just a nightmare,” one Facebook friend wrote. “Words can’t describe the heartache this has caused. I can’t imagine what her family is going through.”
Hunter’s stepfather, Jason, who’s also a volunteer for the same department, said Hunter “fought like a champ and his thick skin, combined with his courage, made him the perfect future firefighter,” according to OneNewsPage.com.
Bronzburg’s Facebook friends are also reaching out to Jason, telling him that they are there for him in his time of need.
“I’m sorry, Jason, my thoughts are with you,” one friend said.
Ash Bronzburg was featured in one of our columns on FireRescue1 talking about firefighting hacks used to get by in everyday life.
“I use my knots training to make clothes lines throughout my house when my dryer isn’t working,” she said.
