NEW WASHINGTON, Ky. — A man who was rushing to a fire at his father’s home in New Washington yesterday was killed in a collision with a car driven by a teenage fire cadet also responding to the blaze.
Nicholas Ray Cross, 25, of Hibernia in Clark County, died at the scene of multiple blunt-force injuries, Clark County Coroner Edwin Coots IV said.
The other driver, a 17-year-old New Washington High School student whose identity was not released because he is a juvenile, suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to University Hospital in Louisville, where police said he was in stable condition.
