ASTON, Pa. — A 57-year-old volunteer fire chief in Pa. died of a heart attack Tuesday.

Raymond “Rocky” Eusden, who was a member of the Aston-Beechwood Fire Company for 41 years, was in the firehouse working on fire apparatus Monday when he became ill, feeling pain and numbness in one of his arms.

Chief Eusden then communicated to another member in the station that he was having difficulty speaking, slurring his words.

He was transported to the emergency room via station ALS Unit and was admitted to the hospital. The following day, while still in the hospital, Chief Eusden went into cardiac arrest and was unable to be revived.

A post on the department’s web site said, “Rocky was a true asset to the Fire Company and community for many years and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.”
