LANHAM, Md. — A Prince George’s County fire apparatus was struck from behind by a tractor-trailer at about 3 a.m. Wednesday. The force of the collision caused the fire truck to hit an SUV and flip on its side.
Fire Chief Marc Bashoor told CBS DC that four firefighters were injured, three had been treated and released while the fourth remains in the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The firefighters were responding to a vehicle collision on the interstate when their rig was hit by the semi.
ABC 7 reports that all four firefighters were volunteers.
