OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma City and Mustang firefighters are battling a large grassfire that is threatening residences near SW 44 and County Line Road.
Officials say firefighters are working quickly to try to protect houses in the area.
At 1:57 p.m. the National Weather Service’s Norman Forecast Office added some counties, including Logan, Oklahoma and Cleveland to the Red Flag Warning. There is an elevated fire risk this afternoon. Strong southwest winds will help push temperatures into the 60s and low 70s this afternoon. Additionally, there will be a prolonged period where winds will average 20 to 25 mph with gusts over 30 mph. These conditions, along with relative humidities in the 10 to 20 percent range, will make wildfires difficult to contain.
