A Maryland firefighter being rescued from a second story window during a house fire and a fire engulfing an aerial ladder with a firefighter on the tip are included in the top video close calls of 2016.
The videos also include a Maine firefighter narrowly escaping a ball of flames during a house fire and firefighters stopping a woman’s suicide attepmt on a highway.

1. Md. firefighter rescued from 2nd story window during house fire
After being treated at the scene, the firefighter was taken to a burn unit for further treatment.
2. Fire engulfs aerial ladder with firefighter on tip
A backdraft sent a blast of flames soaring from the attic engulfing both aerial ladders which had been raised to the roof. Firefighters on the roof scrambled to safety.
3. Maine firefighter falls through roof, rescued
It was an extremely close call, but the firefighter escaped the ball of flames uninjured.
4. Firefighters stop woman’s suicide attempt
Firefighters below the overpass were speaking with the woman when she swung one of her legs back over and straddled the edge.
5. Off-duty firefighter shooting caught on camera
Thankfully, Micahel “Kevin” Gill, a 16-year veteran of Indianapolis Fire Department, is in good condition.
