Whenever we are using an aerial device to gain access to an elevated surface, there is an element of danger of falling off of the device when transitioning from the aerial ladder to the roof. This can be attributed to slippery surfaces, windy conditions, lack of lighting, missing the step, and so on.
Regardless of the reason or factor, we can take an added step to help alleviate this possibility. When disembarking from the aerial ladder tip, always use two hands to grab the tips’ handrail. By using your two hands, you are ensuring a firm grip, firm control and a firm transition.
