ALBION, Mich. — Firefighters and police officers who responded to an animal call were sent running as an angry raccoon mom defended her cubs.

Yahoo.com reported that Albion firefighters and police were called to remove the raccoon and her five cubs after they had fallen through the ceiling and into a home’s living room.

The raccoon began to fight back and protect her newborn cubs as the responders tried to remove her from her hiding place, and she drew blood when she bit the glove of a firefighter.

The responders were finally able to remove the raccoon from a closet after following her around the living room. They did not have as big of a problem removing the babies, and all six animals were relocated to the wilderness shortly after.

“Look how nice all these little babies are,” an officer said in the video.
