DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A firefighter made an important catch during an apartment fire Wednesday.

FOX5Atlanta reported that DeKalb County firefighter Robert Sutton caught a baby after a man tossed the child from a second-floor apartment that was filling with smoke and flames.

“He was a little guy, so when I heard his father yelling ‘help,’ and saw him hanging out the window with the baby in his arms, I just went into action. I just did what any of the other firefighters out here would have done,” Sutton said. “It was my first time in a situation like that.”

Sutton, who has two kids, didn’t want to take credit for the lifesaving catch.

“It’s our job,” he said. “I’m just glad they were both OK.”
