MADISON, Ala. — A Triana Fire Department fire engine overturned in Madison on May 20.

Officials at the scene reported that the driver was unharmed but was transported to the hospital to be checked out, WAFF reported.

There was no report if the crash occurred during a response to a call.

Triana Mayor Mary Caudle stated that the city is now down to one fire engine. The apparatus involved in the crash was one of the fire department’s newer rigs.

Caudle said she has contacted the Madison County Commission for assistance with a backup plan while the city is short a fire engine.
