CROYDON, Pa. — A fire department SUV crashed into a utility pole, snapping it in half and causing an explosion.
6ABC reported that the Croydon Fire Company vehicle crashed in front of the station, and neighbors said they heard an explosion and saw a bright light.
“I saw the car come down the street with the lights on and I saw a big poof like fireworks,” witness James Nugent said.
Witnesses said firefighters were on their way to a call when the crash occurred.
"[I saw] that come down the road and there were a whole bunch of trucks to pull out,” witness Edward Cole. “He skidded and avoided them and hit the pole.”
No injuries were reported in the incident, which is currently under investigation.
